What is Leadership Stillwater?
Our community needs strong leadership to guide it into the future. The purpose of Leadership Stillwater is to identify potential and emerging leaders and prepare them for positions of community involvement and civic leadership. Our graduates serve on volunteer boards and committees that touch every aspect of our community. The purpose of Leadership Stillwater is to:
The program was developed in 1983 and the first class began in January 1984. In January 2011, the twentieth class of Leadership Stillwater will begin. Over four hundred and eighty five people representing a variety of backgrounds have participated in Leadership Stillwater since its inception.
When is it?
Regular sessions are generally three to four hours in length beginning at 5:30 p.m. However, a few modifications are outlined in the class itinerary. 100% attendance is expected. Two mandatory sessions are included. In 2011 the two mandatory sessions will consist of all day activities on Saturday, January 22, and Saturday, June 4, 2011.
What will I learn?
The Leadership Stillwater Program covers the following areas:
Program resources will include civic leaders, government officials, educators, and experts from a variety of fields. Participants will develop an in-depth understanding of the interrelationships and complexities of the community, while broadening communication and problem solving skills.
How do I apply?
Applications must be submitted on an official Leadership form. You may apply directly or be nominated by another person.
The deadline for completed applications for the next class is 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, November 30, 2010.
Applications will be screened by the Selection Committee. Applicants will be notified concerning the selection results of Leadership Stillwater by
December 15, 2010.

What does It cost?
The tuition for each participant is
$600
which includes meals, program costs, and all materials. Tuition may be paid by the participant, employer, and/or sponsoring organization. A limited number of partial financial assistance tuition grants are available. Applications for financial assistance may be requested from the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce.
Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association is the organization that grew out of the graduates of the Leadership Stillwater program. The organization is noted for its role in providing support to community leadership opportunities such as Leadership Stillwater as well as the leadership program for youth in the Stillwater area, Leadership Tomorrow
