2011 PRESIDENT

Paul Vela
|
|
Paul Vela was born and raised in central Texas in a small suburban town outside of Austin, Texas. In 1985, Paul Vela
began his career in the natural gas industry by accepting a position with Southern Union Gas Company, the local natural gas utility
for Austin. Paul worked his way up the company ladder, eventually becoming part of the management leadership group and holding various
management positions within Southern Union Gas. In January of 2003, ONEOK Corporation purchased the Southern Union Gas properties in
Texas. Paul was Rio Grande Valley Operations Manager, at the time based out of Harlingen, Texas. In November of 2003, Paul was
transferred to Stillwater, Oklahoma and promoted to Area Manager for Oklahoma Natural Gas Company, a subsidiary of ONEOK. His duties
include overseeing all ONG operations for the Stillwater/Ponca City area.
A graduate of Leadership Stillwater Class XVI, Paul has participated in various volunteer community boards. He has
served on the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce board, is Past President of the Stillwater United Way, member of the North Central
Oklahoma Workforce board, Stillwater Industrial Foundation board and has chaired and/or participated in various committees.
Paul and his family have really enjoyed becoming part of the Stillwater community and look forward to their future here.

2011 PRESIDENT ELECT

Kendra Moreland
|
|
  Originally from southwest Oklahoma, Kendra Moreland moved to Stillwater to attend college in 1990. She earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees from OSU and was the Communications Specialist at Central Rural Electric Cooperative for 12 ½ years. She became the Director of Public Relations for Stan Clark Companies in 2007.
  A graduate of Leadership Stillwater Class XVIII, Kendra serves on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Stillwater, is a Stillwater Chamber of Commerce ambassador, a member of the Stillwater Noon Lions and the Public Relations Society of America and a volunteer for Relay for Life, Special Olympics and Stillwater Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is also coordinator of the Three Amigos' United Way Golf Classic and the Juke Joint Jog, the two largest fundraisers for the Stillwater Area United.
  Kendra and her husband, Barry, have three daughters - Addie, Gracen and Mattlin. They are active members of Lost Creek United Methodist Church and Kendra enjoys touring our great state, playing golf, hanging out at the lake and riding four-wheelers.

Liz Campbell
|
|
  Liz Campbell joined the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce staff in October of 2002. She was born and raised in Stillwater, and attended Oklahoma State University and the University of Florida to get her accounting degree. Liz's professional background includes ten years with retail family center TG & Y as an office manager, twenty-six years with J. K. Boersma Beverage Co. as their office and accounting manager and now almost eight years with the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce as Director of Finance & Accounting.
  Liz is also the manager of the Leadership Stillwater Program sponsored by Stillwater Foundation for Progress - an educational affiliate of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. She has two children, one daughter, Rori Campbell McPherson who resides in Edmond, Oklahoma and works as a National Bank Examiner, and one son, R. Campbell who resides in Savannah, Georgia and previously worked for Kicker (Stillwater Designs) as their Industrial Designer.
  In addition to her work with the Chamber, Liz is a member of the First United Methodist Church and a Board Member for the Wesley Foundation and Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association. Liz is also active with the Noon Lion's Club and has been a house director for the Kappa Sigma Fraternity for the last four years. This will be her last year as a house director, because she would like to spend more time traveling and focusing on other interests.

Mikhael Reed
|
|
Mikhael Reed has served as the Client Services & Marketing Manager for Eskimo Joe?s Promotional Products Group since 2008.
She attended Oklahoma State University from 1994 ? 1998 and earned a degree in Journalism/Broadcasting with special emphasis in Public Relations. From 1998 ? 2007, Mikhael served as the Director of Public Relation for Stan Clark Companies.
A graduate of Leadership Stillwater Class XIII, Mikhael was nominated by her class to serve as their representative on the Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association board of directors. Since then, she has co-chaired curriculum for Class XIV and XV and chaired Class XVI. She currently serves as the curriculum co-chair for Class XX and secretary for LSAA.
Mikhael stays active in the Stillwater community by serving on the Coaches vs. Cancer planning committee and the Oklahoma WONDERtorium public relations committee.
In her spare time, Mikhael and her husband, Chad, enjoy spending time with their friends and family.

Wanda Cooke
|
|
  Wanda Cooke has served on the LSAA Board of Directors since graduating from Class XII in 1999. She is currently serving her second term as Treasurer having held that position previously from 1999 - 2004. Having lived in Stillwater her entire life, she graduated from both C.E. Donart High School and Oklahoma State University. She currently works for Thomas N. Berry & Company and has held the position of Accounting Manager with them for 15 years.
  She has been married to Bill for 25 years and has three children and several grandchildren.

Derek McCubbin
|
|
  Derek McCubbin was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He attended public schools and graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2002 with an English degree. He taught language arts in Arizona and moved back to Stillwater and married his wife Kelly in the summer of 2003.
  He started working for G&M Body Shop where he is an estimator. In April of 2006, he became a father. He is an active member of the Stillwater Noon Lions, a board member of the Stillwater Family YMCA and a graduate of Stillwater Leadership Class XVII. And in his spare time, he enjoys writing, reading, watching movies, and playing guitar and drums.

Suzette Barta
|
|
|
Suzette Barta has served as the Payne County Extension Educator for Community and Economic Development since October 2008.
Suzette sees her primary audiences as community/civic groups, small businesses, and professionals in the field of economic development.
Payne County is only one of three in the state to have an educator working specifically in the field of community and economic
development.
Suzette has lived in Payne County since 1985, when she arrived as a freshman at Oklahoma State University. She received her BS
from OSU in 1989 and her PhD in 1998. Suzette is a member of the Stillwater Area United Way Board of Directors, the Stillwater
Community Endowment Fund, the Perkins Community Foundation, and a graduate of Leadership Stillwater Class XIX.
Suzette lives in Perkins with her husband, Joe (the Perkins Fire Chief), and their three children. In her spare time, she enjoys
watching her kids? sporting activities. She is a member of all the area chambers of commerce including: Cushing, Stillwater, Perkins,
and Yale.

Chris Hinchey
|
|
|
  Chris Hinchey was born and raised in Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma State University, where he earned a Bachelor of
Science degree in Computer Science, and completed coursework towards a Master of Science in Computer Science. Chris worked for
TMSSequoia for 17 years, a software development company specializing in Document Imaging technologies, where he became the Director of
Engineering. He and his wife, Debbie, now own and operate Alpha Computing Solutions, a software development and IT Services company
based in Stillwater.
  Chris enjoys the great outdoors, including camping and fishing, and OSU sports. Chris has participated in
Relay for Life and United Way Day of Caring, is a lifetime member of the Oklahoma State Alumni Association, OSU Posse, Stillwater Chamber
of Commerce, and is a graduate of Leadership Stillwater Class XIX ("Spicy!").

Sheri Carter
|
|
|
Sheri Carter was hired as the Executive Director of the Stillwater Area United Way in October of 2008.
Sheri?s work experience includes 7 years as the Executive Director of the Stillwater Area Big Brothers and Sisters agency,
4 years in community health at the Rogers County Health Department and most recently she taught Speech Communication at
Oklahoma State University for the past 7 years.
She holds a Master?s degree in Family Relations and Child Development, and a Bachelor?s degree in Applied Sociology.
Both degrees were earned at Oklahoma State University. She was a member of Leadership Stillwater Class XIX ?Spicy!?
Sheri is active with First United Methodist Church, Stillwater Cub Scouts Pack 4, the Human Energy Linking Program in
Stillwater, the Sangre Ridge Elementary PTA, Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association, and serves on the advisory board for the
Stillwater CARES, Inc. organization. She is also an ambassador for the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and serves as chair of the
Payne County Emergency Food and Shelter Program advisory board.
Sheri is married to Sam and they have two children, Seth and Spencer, and a very naughty dog named Annie.

Terri Moorman
|
|
|
Terri was born in Escondido, California. In 1980 she moved with her family to Stillwater. Terri attended Coyle High School and graduated from OSU with a marketing degree.
Terri has worked in the retail field for 27 years. In 2002 she joined Eskimo Joe?s Clothes and is currently the Director of Operations. Terri oversees 3 permanent locations and a call center as well as several seasonal locations throughout the state.
Terri is a graduate of Leadership Stillwater Class XVIII. She has continued her involvement with Leadership Stillwater by serving as the internship chairperson for Class XIX and XX and has recently taken over the Leadership Tomorrow program. Terri is an active member of PTA and currently serves as Secretary for the Stillwater Junior High School PTA. She volunteers for the annual Three Amigos Golf Classic and Juke Joint Jog. She has coordinated Stillwater Public School?s Read Across America Celebration for the last 10 years. Terri also enjoys volunteering at the Companion Animal Assistance Spay and Neuter clinics.
Terri and her husband, David, have one daughter, Teryn. In her spare time Terri enjoys spending time reading, gardening, bike riding, and wine tasting.

Cristy Morrison
|
|
  Cristy Morrison has served as the Executive Director of the Stillwater Convention and Visitors Bureau since 1995. She began her career marketing the City of Stillwater at the Chamber of Commerce immediately following her graduation from Oklahoma State University.
  Within her responsibilities as Vice President of Marketing and Membership of the Chamber of Commerce, she served as the Leadership Stillwater program director for Classes VI, VII and VIII. After changing career tracks to visitor development, Cristy was selected to participate as a member of Class X of the Leadership Stillwater program.
  Upon graduation from the Leadership Stillwater program, Cristy was elected president of the Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association where she proudly served five consecutive terms.
  Cristy is honored to be a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class XV and currently serves on the executive committee and board of directors for Leadership Oklahoma.

Jim Aulgur
|
|
  Jim is the 2008 President of the Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association Board and graduated from Leadership Stillwater class VI. He believes in leading by example and giving of his time back to the community for such things as the Chamber of Commerce, Stillwater Day of Caring, Oklahoma Special Olympics, United Way and the Hospital Foundation.
  Jim Aulgur graduated from Oklahoma State University with B.S. in Business Administration and a Masters of Administrative Studies. He also holds two international and one state purchasing certifications.
  Two people Jim is most proud of are his two children. His son Aaron and his daughter Amanda.
  Jim began his career with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education (formally Vocational and Technical Education or Vo-Tech) in 1980. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer and responsibilities include finance, budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable, information data management, risk management, fleet management, facilities management, telecommunications, logistics and fixed assets.
